    Hi,

while waiting for better weather to paint my '32 roadster project i decided
that i start on my '29 project.
    Both bodies are brookville.
It all happend when a friend called and told me that will swap the 239 y-block
out of his '55 F-100 for a 302EFI engine and trans.
I like flatheads much more but the yblock was cheap and runns good.
I had a small runner 3x2 fenton intake for years , now i have an engine for it.

To build the deuce frame the way I wanted it took a lot of reading on the HAMB send
PMs and even made two overseas phone calls to help me on my decision.

So the yblock is a loong motherfucking engine so i went with a 108" wheelbase.
The frame is pinched at the cowl and narrowed 1 1/2 " in the back and
3/4 in the front crossmember areas.

What is (maybe ) alittle different that i piecut the bottom of the cowl 3/8 to
get rid of the gap as a deuce frame has no straight top rail.
I got the idea from my phone calls. Thanks Brian and Gary !

I built a CE style center crossmember where the legs will "meet" the original '29 body holes.

I have a 9" rear ladder bars, split 40 front bones and '48 side steering for the project.

But now the weather starts to warm up and i will work on the '32

    I also have a '40 rear, lincoln overdrive******* and a 255 french flathead...........maybe no
    yblock, i keep you informed.

looks good. Either way, you good to go. Y-block=more power, L-head=more cool factor, both = sweet combo

Just out of curiosity, I'm planning on putting a 56 Y block in my deuce. How far from the flywheel is your front cross member? Any pics of your motor mounts?

Thanks man, good luck with whichever you chose. JL

  7. Your always doing something great. My Father pulled the running flathead out of his friends, full fendered, A bone tudor on a stock/boxed frame and replaced it with a 239 Y block and had it running soon after. It appeared to fit very well with hurst mounts.

Nothing more cooler than a Y BLOCK. It will give you all the power you will ever need and you always have the option of additional motor mods--Kudo's
