I got the roll bar hoop tacked in place, and the rear struts cut and coped to fit, and I got a call from Sam, @bskustoms that he had the the tonneau cover mounted to the aluminum frame. I picked it up today and it really sets the truck off. Now I will unsnap and remove the cover to tack the rear roll bar struts, and he will come out and mark where the bars penetrate the material, cut and bind the holes and make the slits to the sides. Just one more piece to the puzzle, thanks to Sam ! IMG_3987.jpg IMG_3986.jpg IMG_3984.jpg IMG_3985.jpg

I have been engrossed in getting an additional driveway on my property, and a friend, the contractor beat the winter rain by just a few hours. A buddy just down the road from me built this 36 Willys back in the 80's, and needed a suspension upgrade, and a newer V-6 engine installed. So, today we took it apart, and should have my part done in a couple of weeks. Cool little car.

Jiminy, I am only changing the front suspension, and mounting a later engine. The suspension is OT, so I wouldn't have much to post.

The RPU looks all business Marty...can't wait to see the front wheels lift off the ground one a little higher due to the torque in the monster under the hood...congratulations on the achievements to date...you're doing quite the juggling act in style with life around the shop...how's the birds? I figure that's a thing you might do catching a bit of fresh air during a break from the hustle and bustle...tossing a few seeds to the happy campers...thanks for sharing the journey...

Thanks Stogy, I am mounting wheelie bars, planning on lifting the wheels. I hated to stop feeding the quail, but some cats moved in, and it's not a bird friendly atmosphere anymore. Now that the additional driveway is in, it was done just in time, as we had some serious rain last night. That takes a lot of pressure of of me, and I can resume my daily activities. Good things to come !

Cats or quail? Quail taste better but fewer then cats which easier target. Actually never tasted cats; have to ask around

o_ONo Chinese restaurants close to you? Politically incorrect, I know, but to make up for it, I do have a cat named Target ;). Also politically incorrect, but at this stage of my life, I don't care :).

Get this back onto Hotrods...Marty I had a tour with some carnuts and this Fellas Collection was HUGE and eye opening...

A sizable part was big truck related but there was something for everyone really...

When I saw this I thought of your hood...1956...period correct I thought...even if you are 60s in period with yours...

...you could form this too...I know your capabilities...

You could hinge and dzus it if injector access is an issue...

They look diecast kinda aluminiumy even...hey!...new word...:D

Side note...it truly isn't long enough for your application but just an Inspiration for a possible scoop...

Stogy, love those Big Job/Super Duty Ford trucks. But after forming the scoop, and looking at it, I feel it messes with the hood line. And my motto in what ever I do, less is more.

    Yes totally get it...
Would reversing a similar style scoop have been something done back then...maybe that might look passable...then airflow and injector issues also factor into it as well...

    Oops I said looks...looks don't win the race...:D

Kiss is a balancing act indeed...

Working on my pal Tim's Willys, reminds me of a trio of guys I knew that raced a 36 sedan. John Anderson, and Chet Thomas first raced it in primer with an injected 421 Pontiac, then a SBC, and then partnered with Jim Barnard, and used his fuel burning early Chrysler. It ran in the 7's at 190 with Chet at the wheel, in AA/FA. A1.jpg A-3.jpg A3.jpg A4.jpg
