I must be feeling better, as I went shopping today. I have known about this Hilborn Injector for several years, and it has been in the back of my mind for that time. I called the owner up and paid him a visit today and purchased it. It's smaller than the one I have, by quite a bit, and measures 1.800 inside the stacks, versus 2.0625 on the other one. I have been thinking about building a smaller engine, and have pieces to build a standard bore 327, compared to the long rod 355 I have. Maybe I need 2 race cars ? Made another stop and collected a couple 8-3/4 Chrysler housings, dragster ready. IMG_4228.jpg IMG_4229.jpg IMG_4227.jpg IMG_4230.jpg

Looks like they're in good shape, Marty. Maybe you should build a 283 up...
No, I'm not selling the one in the garage.

327? You need a really big stroker crank, 3 5/8 or 3 3/4. 370 or bigger. That'll pull those fronts off of the track...

Sam, things have been up and down for the last month and a half, but should be squared away by the end of next week. BTW, I have your brake/clutch cylinder here, and will get it to you soon. Thanks buddy !

IMG_4346.jpeg I have been getting back at it, had a few aluminum heads for Chevys that had blown up. I got them welded for my local machine shop. Got a new project on the drawing board, and wanted to use an 8-3/4 Chrysler rear. So I bought a new center housing, along with some Grand National tubes and snouts. Since it will be drum brakes, I had some backing plate brackets laser cut. After getting the brackets welded and faced, I machined steps on the tubes to slide them into the center. Tomorrow it should be in the cradle with the line up bar and tack welded. I am moving a little slower during my recovery, but making progress. IMG_4302.jpeg IMG_4332.jpeg IMG_4333.jpeg

Marty, you have the neatest stuff. I could build an entire car around just a few of those trinkets.

Today, I got it carefully welded up the tubes keeping the ends within a few thousandths of perfect. Here it is with what I believe to be a Mopar Performance aluminum case. Now I need a 30 spline spool and some custom 24 X 30 spline axles. IMG_4349.jpg IMG_4348.jpg IMG_4352.jpg IMG_4353.jpg IMG_4354.jpg IMG_4355.jpg IMG_4356.jpg

One of the perks wrapping up my PU build this month is having time to go play. I'll be down your way this summer. Count on it. I'll let you know when I'm comin so I don't catch one of them cleavers by surprise.

I have never seen that style before. I used the fabricated spider backing plates from Frankland for 3/4 ton spindles both front and rear. And Buick aluminum drums fitted to Frankland hubs. I probably should have kept the 18 or so left over Buick drums when my mom sold the estate in my hometown. But I was in college by then, and no place to store them. Oh well...

I’ve had some in the past, and currently have a matching pair of similar skeleton plates. I always thought they were Frankland parts, but don’t remember seeing any names on them.
