Well I'm starting out with a 64f350 with the original 292, no distributer in it so I got a new one , I need a GOOD diagram of the fireing order and where to start. That msd diagram is all kinds of wrong so please don't post that one

Y Block is same as flathead, firing order 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2

The #1 is the forwardmost cylinder on the p***enger side, distributor rotates clockwise. What distributor did you get, the post '56 type is what you want.

IMG_1951.JPG Interesting. A '59 Ford shop manual shows pics for the 6 and larger v8s but only has text for the 292.

If you can't read the photo pm and I can try to send an enlarged copy from the manual.

Ford numbers the cylinders from the front 1234 on the right side and 5678 on the left the 15486372 order is right but the distributor turns counter clockwise not clockwise.
