Projects 292 y-block valve spring removal

    Well - I got the engine out, and then put it back in. Silly me, I assumed I had the adapter arms for the engine stand I was borrowing. I did not realize I was missing them until after I pulled the engine and removed the bellhousing + inspection cover + clutch. So I finished the day putting it back where I started (minus all that stuff I just removed).

    Aside from this thing taking the opportunity to whiz coolant on my floor again, it went without any problems. I think the inspection cover was saving some from when I pulled the heads and douched everything. The bellhousing and inspection cover were 1/4 inch thick with grease (I scraped some because I got tired of putting my hand in it). The flywheel looks mostly filthy - certainly needs to be turned.

    I am also missing the jack handle for the hoist I am using. For that I 3D printed a knob for the valve & used a breaker bar to pump the jack. The new knob works WAY better than any jack handle I have ever used.

    Let us see what you have when you get the pan and front cover off. There’s a chance I might have something useful.
