Is there any difference between the ford 292 y blocks in the trucks and cars? Reason why I'm asking is because I need a new crankshaft pulley. I found one on cjpony website but says it's just for the 292 y block for trucks

I’m sure that someone on the HAMB will have your answer
    but
Have you tried asking this question on a forum called “y-blocksforever.com’

Heavier truck engines typically have a higher water pump centerline along with bigger fans, so the pump and mounting would be different.

Not sure where the break would be, though. Could be F600 or F700 and up, or could be pickups too.

Regular trucks (maybe not the heavy’s finn mentioned?) and t birds used a common front cover. It mounted the front engine mount. Which was a mount, not a steady rest like the cars. Birds used a special damper that spaced the pulleys out (that why the spacer in the water pump) for clearance. So you’ve got two things you’re asking. Will the pulley bolt up, and will it line up with the existing pulleys.

Since I’ve only owned ‘birds I don’t know. But at yblocksforever you’ll get the details, and probably on the Ford Barn. Joining yblocksforever requires you email Ted Eaton at https://www.eatonbalancing.com/2001/03/20/contact-us/ to get added in. He’s the spam filter.

The Barn is one of Ryan sites, just sign up.

Later blocks seem to have less core shift and the crank case vent in the block is cast over.
