Chasing out the wheel wobbles... I ordered new wheels... A shout out to Jason @ Early Wheel Co. He rushed a set to me so I can make it to the Thaw. Awesome service!

Hope to have them mounted by the end of today. There was a little flex in the steering box mount. I'm going to weld a plate to each side to add support. Looks like a long night ahead...
Should be cruise'n along in no time... '50Effe will be bassing my place about 8:30am I plan to be ready to roll with him.

I drove the sedan home from a week and a half at the transmission shop. they rebuilt another trans for me and it shifts like a champ. What a difference! Yee Haw! today I will get the tires mounted on the new wheels. interior guy is coming over tomorrow to make kick panels, cut the rest of the carpet, work out the head liner...

Update time... We got the new trany in and all... mounted new wheels and had them 'finger plate" balanced. Discount Tire had the stuff to do it after calling every old tire store in Ft Worth... $15 per wheel. But the right way to do it as per Early Wheel Co.

I replaced the old tie rod ends, adjusted the slack in the steering box and went for a test drive... And still got a low speed wobble.... but not on the bumps that caused it the other times... So we had improved things.

We drove the car to Good Guy @ Texas Motor Speedway early Friday morning. 1950Effey was following me with Hazmat ridding shotgun. RR tracks at 5 MPH wobbles like crazy! The rest of the ride 10+ miles) was tense... but we were loving it...

Effey was able to "see" the wobbles 1st hand. He had been coaching me through the process of getting it right, but now he was a witness. He adjusted the draglink and we drove the rest of the weekend with zero wobbles...

We were able to run 3 laps on the track. I've never driven on a banked track before. it was cool... I took my 13 year old boy. It was awesome! We also won the Home Built award and got to drive through the winner circle.

Next weekend Effey and I replaced the rear axle bearings and adjustd the carbs to dial everything in for LSR....

A few last minute details for me Friday morning and we were ready for the trip to Austin.

HotRob and his bride on one bike, Hazmat on the other. Casey from the Torques in the Merc (passing my slow but)

And we got to park with the cool kids...
