Quick update on the Sedan... I have been doing tons of little stuff,
break lines, fuel lines, trans coolant lines, cross member, fish plates on frame, painted frame, finished welding the wheel wells, finished welding patch panels, re-arched rear spring (it was a little flat) Fabed and welded the flanges for the turn outs on the headers....
I finishe doff the weekend with head the head light install...

thanks for the HAMB tech article also for the rain gutters. I like how yours came out. I used 1/2 x1/2 sq tubing also, bent it to shape, then drilled 1/4 in holes every 1 inch for the rail to fall into. I like the way it came out. I was unsure if I could hold a straight line with the cut off wheel to do what you did. Nice work.

Motoandy, The straight line is easy to clean up with the grinder... Your's look cool too. What roof did you use to fill yours in? (I need to do that next, and soon)

I used a 84 Astro Mini-van roof turned backwards. In other words the top under the windshield is at the back of the car to follow the lines of the car. Then I had to use flat stock to follow the lines in the roof panel. The flat stock flows into my visor which added strength and eliminated the flex that was there.I will try and find the pictures to help describe what I did.

I like the size of the ribs on that roof... I want to stay away from the 2" wide ones.... Did you have to cut it out, or did the salvage yard do it? What did you have to pay? Any other tips, shoot me a PM....
    Thanks,
    Jay

We started the engin last weekend. We had the whole familey involved in getting it ready. Shari ran the spark plugs in. My 11 yr old boy helped me get the trans bolts in.
    Here is the video:

This past weekend we cut out the sheet metal for the floors. Shari helped me with the bead roller. the 18 ga sheet took some work'n. I was very glad to have my wife as a shop hand for that.

We test fit the body to make sure the new floor panels fit. They did, but some other stuff will need to be adjusted.

Congrats man. I'm amazed at how much work you've been able to get done in such a short time. Damn, you're close now.

Great progress on the floors and what not! Really coming together quick now! It's great you have the family involved. It will make it that much more fun for them and they'll appreciate all that has gone into it! Very cool!

I have been working too hard to post... but my buddy Leeroy came up from Austin last weekend and we rocked out a ton of work. I was a full day behind schedule... The roof and visor are done. I have been block sanding the seams untill my sholders ache... Getting ready for some paint today... Weather looks good, time is short, but we're going for it...

LOL I looked all over for one of these too... Check out your local Fastenal (sp) Bout $30

I spent the last 15 hours spreading mud and sanding it all back off... Some of you paint guys said it would be worth it... My body does not agree at this point...I'm a hurt'n... it is amazing how many little things you can see wrong with what you thought was good body work when you put it under this many lights...

Curtis is an old school Mopar guy who has been the best teacher a guy could ever ask for... He tought me so much over the last 2 years of this project and even more today!

So a BIG thank you to every old dude willing to show a young dude some of your tricks!!! This is his paint booth. and his '47 Chrysler... he has a '57 Desoto and severial other cars sitting around waiting their turn for restoration...

I would not be here with out guys like Curtis and the HAMB!!!

A buddy brought his little girl by to 'check-in" on me and see how things were going. I think I talked her into doing a little sanding on the roof... :D
