I've use several types on slant 6 engines over the years but the best one (if you didn't have to worry about hood clearance) was an inverted natural gas 1 BBl to 2 BBL adapter off of an industrial Hemi. You drill out the threads on the 1 BBL end and just bolt the small Stromberg WW or Carter BBD on the 2BBL end. Some are over 2" tall and some are only about 5/8" thick and I've used the shorter ones that rotate the carb 90 degrees with countersunk bolts. The problem occurs with ambient temps from about 55F on down. The small carbs tend to form ice that interferes with the idle circuits at the lower temps. They do provide a noticable improvement in performance though. You can see part of one of the taller ones in my avatar. I'm sure some of you guys have already done this sometime in the past and perhaps even added some carb heat for the cool temp issues? BD
