I just couldn't hold off until the New Year:D Mark your calender on Saturday May 21st for the 2nd Annual Eagle Field Fresno Dragways Reunion. This year we're reducing the Drag Race entry back to $20 a car or mini bike after paid $15 admission and hope you'll join us for some good ol' Run Whatcha Brung Runway Drags. I have a special guest in mind and I'll make the announcement after I confirm that he can still make the date.
All the regulars will be there with a few suprises I'm sure and I plan on making the first public performance with my Twin Engine Dragster (Twin Build Thread http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=533613 ) at this event. If you haven't been and you wanta get a feel what it was like "Back In The Day" then you may just want to join us, maybe make a weekend out of it as camping is FREE!
The event will go a bunch smoother than last year with changes we made at the Oct event proving to be very successful. Go to http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=500505 for the Oct 2010 event thread and check eaglefielddrags.com for more info.

Check out the videos on YouTube, here's a "Trailer" for the Oct event Video that I just can't get enough of:D

Tim, I'm hoping we'll have 4 C/GD's at the next event, I'm helping a friend build a very basic one with a Mopar. It's gonna be good times;)

  4. That'll be great! We can have the "Big Three" represented, all we need is someone to build one with a 304 AMC. ;)

  5. You know we'll be there, think'in about it already humm maybe the new engine can get done by then????
need to get a little closer to Tim.......probably just in the pits.........

Is the old Fresno dragstrip out by Herndon & 99? I remeber there being a timing tower out there in the late 70's and 80's. Seems there was a grass covered old strip too.

No, Fresno Dragways is out west of HWY41 (i dunno maybe 5 miles west) on Manning ave south of Fresno near Caruthers. Here's a YouTube video my son shot when the current owner gave me permission to check it out. Rocky

    Thats Rasin City right?

There used to be something where Herndon takes the wide turn to 99, just North of Herndon. Might have been a converted airport (not the airport Blythe). I could be halucinating (pesticides will do that).

Yep, Raisin City, I dunno about Herndon and 99, I remember my folks were in a horse club 40 years ago (I was 10 or 11) and built an arena where your talking about. That private airport on Blythe and Herndon would be cool but the housing has really sprung up in the area, not that it would of mattered anyway.

  29. Can't wait. We had an absolute blast at the Oct meet. We plan on bringing a motor home and staying Friday night. How late does the gate stay open?
