Hi Rocky.....Thanks to you, and your crew of volunteers, from Tony and Kathy Lloyd, Nostalgia Flathead Fuel Dragster, for a wonderful job of putting on a good event. I'm Sorry, but both Kathy and I were affected with stomach flu, and were only able to run three passes. That was our problem. We got to race a C-gas rail, twice. One loss (Poor Kathy had to figure out the flagman) and one win. We also raced "Roseville Carl" in his Flathead gas dragster. A good racer and a true gentleman, he came to our pit after the race with Kathy's award, a nice cold drink. Thank you Sir.
After the races, we headed home but only made it to Santa Nella, where we stopped at a RV park and went to bed for 13 hours. I was sick once in the night. Sunday morning we headed back to Castro Valley where we did another 12 hour sleep marathon. We are both well now. I have to unload the race car and clean the Nitro out of the oil pan, check the bearings, fire it up on gasoline for a clean oil flush. All the normal fuel car maintinence. Thanks again Rocky & Crew

  2. I feel your pain. I had the stomach flu the Mon. before the event and was still a little shakey on Sat. My wife Kathy stayed home from Eagle Field because it was her turn that day. It just seems to be going around. It was good meeting you (Carl brought me by) and maybe next time we can run your Flatty aginst my Y-Block.

  3. Tony and Kathy, sorry to hear you guys were so sick but glad that you got to make it to Eagle. Enjoyed our conversations and it made my day to run against you guys and Elmer, the people that I only used to watch from the sidelines. Now I get a chance to see you guys from the back!!!. Wait till next year, maybe I will get 8 feet on ya, before ya pass me, ya thats what you look for, "progress" !!!
Just being able to sit and jaw with you guys made the trip worthwile let alone being able to run and not break anything......
Once again the Eagle is flying High and hope everyone enjoyed it as much as me, and the Bumps n Bruises Racing team..............

  4. Hey Ronny - Got any more event T-shirts left, or are in the position to print up a few more. I was kind of busy with the whole volunteering duties that I wasn't able to stop in and see ya

Howdy y'all...Roseville Carl, Thank you for the Roll-Bar photos. We got more "Press" from you and other photographers who have posted on the net. Thank you to all. I really wish that we were well enough to have a really good time, organize a few more races, with McTim64, the C-Gas dragsters, and others that run real well. Carl, if you loaned the "Truck engine" to the dragster, there is a good chance that you would trailer us real proper!!
McTim64, thanks for seeking us out and meeting us. I go along way back with Y-Blocks as I have owned a 55 T-Bird since 1960. Kathy and I attended her High School Reunion Last year, in Tenefly New Jersey driving the 55-Bird! We do not have a lot of "Race Plans" for this year. I do however have a new engine on a engine stand. The Governors Cup is coming up......
It woulda been a lot better if we were well. We felt, "The show must go on" we mustered three passes. Boy!! That wind and dust.
Thanks again to Rocky and his wonderful crew of volunteers. GOOD JOB!!

  9. Great pics Roc. If you notice there is not a frown on anyone's face just smiles, you made 177 drivers very happy as usual. What a blast for those of us behind the wheel, plus the car show was great, damn it sounds like I'm patting you on the back. Shit give me a while and I'll try to think of something to complain about.................................not..............

Rocky, I have to concur. You and your crew keep getting it better, smoother, and more fun (even the wind was smoother). Hell, somebody'd think y'all were learning. :D

The VHT quibble aside, I'll be back no matter what.

........ and I'll be trying something new for the top end at ANRA this weekend, so I might have it worked out for October. ;)

Rocky, you have created the best event on the west coast...hell, probably farther than that. As Old6rodder said "The VHT quibble aside, I'll be back no matter what." Just change that "I'll" to a "we". Patti and I will be there unless the world comes to an end, (and considering how well those predictions have done I don't think that will be a problem:p). Hopefully we'll even have our car there one of these trips.:D

Big hugs from Patti and a Big Atta Boy from us at Wild Hare Racing!!

OK, I've posted a "Fraction" of Kleet Norris' photos on our Eagle Field Drags website, if your interested in a photo posted (there are probably more) you can contact Kleet here on the HAMB (goes by Neglected Steel) or I have his email address posted on the eaglefielddrags.com photos page.

Also looks like there will be some noise made at Eagle Field this August, more to come! Rocky
