Got my room reserved and ready to go. Although, I haven't even touched my 63, so it looks like I will be in the 56 (which I also need to do some work on before then...)

  7. I never made it across town, unfortunately. Would have loved to have caught up with you.

  8. I've got me and David "road hammer" Hay's reservations at the Chez Jimmy.

  9. Made the dangerous trip through the snow up to the mailbox and sent our registration out today. Looking forward to it.

  10. LOL. I got your registration when I got home from Texas. I am about two weeks behind in sending out e-mails to let folks know that I have received registrations.

  12. We've passed the 70 registered participants mark, with yesterday's mail delivery!

The CrossMembersCC would like to thank everyone who has pre-registered for the 2nd Annual SWMO Hot Rod Hundred Reliability Run. I'll be accepting anything postmarked by 3/2 as pre-registered, so if time got away from you, and you didn't want to miss out on the Norwell designed event T-shirt, well...make sure to get it in the mail tomorrow or send in your info and payment to the crossmemberscarclub@gmail.com e-mail address.

We will be ordering a limited number of extra t-shirts that may be purchased the day of the event, for $15/ea.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

  13. Springfield Catholic High School has graciously agreed to allow us to start the 2nd Annual SWMO Hot Rod Hundred Reliability Run at their location. Their address is 2340 S Eastgate Ave, Springfield, MO 65809.

Unfortunately, this year, we will not have the opportunity to have breakfast nor restroom facilities at the starting point. We would ask that you be at the school no earlier than 7:45am.

    Schedule of events:

    7:45AM - Check-in begins
    8:30AM - Check-in closes
    8:45AM - Driver meeting
    9:00AM - Departure

I don't know if the link will translate appropriately, but I will soon have a downloadable PDF document with details.

I drove the Nomad 70 miles today (work and back). Do we know the destination yet? I am 100 miles from Springfield, so was just curious about total amount and where we end up. I have Good Friday services on the 3rd so I won't be able to come up and get a room the night before the run.

70! Man that's awesome. There's no way I can make this one but maybe I'll have my stuff together enough for the following one. Take lots of photos! :)

  16. Hey Duncan,

We've had the ending destination figured out for a while. We will be ending at the City Park, in Crane, MO.

Looking forward to seeing you then!

    Bret

BTW, including club members, the current count is up to 78.

That's great, only 56 miles from home for me! I can't wait!

  18. Well, the event T-shirts have been ordered. The @Jeff Norwell art rendering looked WAY cool, can't wait to see it on the shirt. The subject matter of the artwork is being kept under wraps, so you'll have to wait until the SWMO event takes place to see it.

The food deposit was also issued today to buy enough meat to feed 200 hungry people. My mouth was watering just thinking about it!

We ordered all of the t-shirts that were requested on the pre-registration forms. We will have shirts available for purchase at the event, as well.

I changed out a trans. and converter in February. It's all doing o.k. so far. I think I'm ready. I'm looking forward to it. I hope we get a day in the 70's like today. We'll have fun regardless.

  20. Very cool, Sam!

I just added the latest entry to the spreadsheet. 72 registered, at this point, plus another 10 club member cars.

Just praying for good weather and lots of fun!

  21. We are officially 2 weeks away from the 2nd Annual SWMO Hot Rod Hundred.

Just as a quick reminder, this year, we will have a different route than we traveled last year. Here's the key things to know:

Starting point: Springfield Catholic High School, 2340 S Eastgate Ave, Springfield, MO 65809
Unfortunately, we will not have the opportunity to have breakfast, nor restroom facilities this year at the starting point. We would ask that you be at the school no earlier than 7:45am.

Hotel: The Hampton Inn - South, 3232 South Glenstone Avenue, Springfield, MO 65804, has a block of rooms set aside for Hot Rod Hundred participants. To make your reservation, they had asked that do so prior to March 20, call the property directly at 417-882-6611, and use group 80648155. Their rate, for Hot Rod Hundred participants will be $85/night. In the event that they say that they are full, give me a shout and I will help direct you to a hotel property that is within a reasonable distance to the starting location.

    Schedule of events:

    7:45AM - Check-in begins - we will provide a route map and your t-shirts at check-in
    8:30AM - Check-in closes
    8:45AM - Driver meeting
    9:00AM - Departure

Here is a link to the route, for those of you who would like to do a little research ahead of time: https://goo.gl/maps/9rkB7

Current count, as of this morning, is 82 cars and roughly 160 people participating. Last year, we had around 20 "day of event" registrations, so it is quite possible that this year we could surpass 100 participating cars and trucks.

We will have 2 awards to be given away, currently being pinstriped by Cory McMahon. The "Long Haul" award, for the participant that comes in from the furthest distance, and a "Hard Luck" award that hopefully nobody will "earn".

Keep your eyes out for the guys shooting photos. Travis "Royboy" Scanlan, Quentin Brown, and Cory McMahon will be capturing the event with their cameras. I am sure that each of them would love to get the best shots as possible, which does include the "people" aspect of an event like this.

If you have any questions between now and April 4, please feel free to call or e-mail me.

  22. One week from today, folks will start descending upon Springfield to participate in the 2nd Annual Hot Rod Hundred.

If you haven't pre-registered, you can still show up and participate with us. Be there before we close registration at 8:30am. Starting point is Springfield Catholic High School, 2340 S Eastgate Ave, Springfield, MO 65809.

Thanks, @JeffNorwell, for sliding in under the wire with the artwork. I believe that the T-shirts go to print today.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to shoot me an e-mail or give me a call.

Another day and a half and headed up that way! Looking forward to seeing everyone!

  24. I hope my '40 coupe is more reliable than my laser printer! So far, I have printed 100 copies of the map (6 pages each), and have had about 12 paper jams.

I need to run some entry forms for the "day of event" folks and some extra maps.

I'm looking forward to a good drive in the country-even though I live in the country.

  27. Event time is racing up on us quickly. These events definitely don't happen by themselves, and it's been quite a blessing to have guys jump in and volunteer themselves to help them happen. Besides the other CrossMemberCC guys, Steve Rohlman, Ben DeLozier, and Dan Grider have been tremendous to give of their time and efforts.

Dan wound up giving us a killer deal for Steve to buy the groceries that he's preparing for our lunch. Ben and Missy cleaned up the pavilion and got it ready for our arrival and will be helping Steve with the lunch provisions.

In addition to those guys, we would like to thank each of you who are planning to be there to participate. Some from some pretty great distances, and that absolutely blows us away. Thanks for taking your time to come hang out and play cars with us!
