******* SOLD ! ******** To the fine folks at Atlas Speed and Custom in Texas !!!! Looking forward to watching the Restoration ! I was once told "You can't buy History, You have to make it !".. Well this little Roadster has NHRA History. This car needs to be restored... This is Loren McCombs 1964 NHRA B/SR U.S. National Champion At Indy,.. And the 1966 NHRA B/SR Spring National Champion At Bristol. It's reported to be the ONLY Modified Roadster to EVER win a national championship with a Y Block Ford !,.... Let alone twice. You can find the entire story in three different Threads on the HAMB... As well as In Hot Rod Magazine's Barn Find Issue Dated October 2007. This Roadster is a 1931 Model A Channeled over a 1932 Ford Frame, With a 312 Thunderbird Y Block, And the ULTRA RARE complete N.O.S. "Hilborn Fuel Injection With Vertex Magneto and Injection Pump Drive" (Under 120 units ever produced, Highly sought after. Just like the ones used on the 1957 Thunderbird "BattleBirds")... And a 57' Chevy rear axle. Like I said, She needs a full restoration, PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT ALL THE PICTURES ! When Hot Rod came to take pictures, they mentioned they would be very interested in doing a follow up article/feature on the The Blue Racer when restored. I Also have Loren's 1964 Championship Jacket and wood plaque that was presented to him with the trophy, that goes with the car.... (Sorry, they discarded the trophy's many decades ago). The engine and trans are without question 1957 Thunderbird,.. are not the original to the Blue Racer, And although I was told it ran, I have never heard it run myself, And am confident it should be rebuilt..... More pictures to come when I can figure it out......... !? I can't figure it out,... Here is a link to a lot of pictures.. (** I will also take old firearms in partial trade, one or entire collections**) BLUE RACER PICTURES
