I am eventually going to run 2 dueces on my litlle flathead A sedan. I have been watching e bay for a while and am amazed that the intake I am looking at sells for more used on line than you can buy it for from Speedway. Am I missing something here? Is Speedways Offy a knock off or are bidders just nuts when it comes to auctions? The one in question is the intake with the carbs close together and the generator in stock location. I know this is a marginal performer but it is going on a basicly stock engine, just after the look. Any opinions?
The Offenhauser "reg"is the easiest one to bolt on. Keeps your generator in stock location. I sell Offenhauser, they are not "knock offs' cuz Offie never went out of business.Yes they are new. If it is a out ofproduction manifold,ie Evans etc.. the prices keep climbing. (the Offie 59Ab reg.is $169.95)
One thing to consider is are you going for convenience or performance? The close spaced intakes arent much better than a single 94. The end cylinders will get starved and the centers run rich and gas mileage suffers. In that case using a Rochester 2G, mounted backwards unless you want to build the throttle firewall linkage, on a stock Merc 49-53 intake will be a much better performer. OTOH offsetting the genny is no big deal, Offy sells the bracket, and use the wide spaced Super Dual style. You get better looks IMO and good performance.
How about a Navarro wide spaced 2x2 vs an Offy 3x2 w/ progressive linkage? My dad has both and he has already offered me the 3x2. I kind of like the look of the 2x2 though. Which would be a better performer on the street? Neal
If you are running 49-53 style heads with the water necks in the front, am I right in assuming that you can't run an off center generator? Might make the Offy intake the best option. (the price helps, too!)

No problem, it all works and clears. The only issue with some intakes with 94's is the oil fill tube needs a very small clearance dimple. You may be thinking of the 59A bracket which mounts on the head. The 8BA style mounts to the intake which means you cant use the smooth front racing style intakes. Hopefully that bracket is the one Vaphead carries.
Eric, What are you getting for a pair of the Edmunds air cleaners? Either the small ones pictured or the larger ones. Thanks...

I am on vacation starting today, will be back on Jan.5th. By memory the SHARP is $215.00? I carry all the generator bracket styles made. Send me a 'PM" and all answer any questions when I get back. ERIC (I don't remember the price on the air cleaners, but I do remember they are a little pricey)
On Offys, appearance may be the price factor. All the old ones I have have a beautiful smooth finish. The new ones I have seen look like they are made from cement, and the earlies have lots of extraneous lumps because they are now made from late castings.
