I'm using a Caddy air cleaner housing with a14" air cleaner sitting on a 1/4" aluminum plate, round, of course to match.

I just welded two round ones together and i did the same for my 3x4
set-up. But i am working on a Billet on now.Finding a filter for it when I'm done maybe interesting.

I used the same setup on my 29 and modified some aftermarket 57 Vette air cleaners to work.

Just don't backfire the engine... the foam in these won't take it.

Ya can't talk about dual quad air cleaners without mentioning these. Specially adapted late 50s hot rod air cleaners for the Chevy 270 set up. I've always loved these things! If I ever found a nice set, I might have to build a car around them.:D

It's a "store bought" set up, but I like it.

**** those are nice! The repops just are quite right. What are those small base 4GCs off of? 303 Olds? For some reason I didn't think the inlet cleared the front carb...

They probably don't breathe worth a ****, but I love those old Cal Customs with the metal element with "V8" shaped openings.

I like the V8 pattern 'grills' as well, but on the Edelbrock intake for the Buick, the carbs are SO close together there is no way to use them. I couldn't even use the other type with the flat side pointing towards each other. Now if I could find a couple of the V8 type cheap for the 2x4 322 motor I am getting ready to do....

The down side of the Edelbrock manifolds is that they put the carbs real close together. (at least, my C26 does) A lot of the cool dual round cleaners won't work. I used Cal Custom 40-40 scoops on my, with risers so they sit kinda offset one into the other.

Sorry for the bad pic. I was taking a pic of the firewall clearance, but you can see how the cleaners sit on the Edelbrock manifold.

Yeah, the carbs are so close that there isn't a 1/4" between the front and rear carb bases. I am sure I could find another setup to use, but with the ones I have, I have no desire to do so. The 322 will use either an Edmunds 2x4 or a Golden Engineering 2x4 ( unless I use a 2x2 or factory X-number 3x2or whatever.) the nice thing about nailheads is there is no coolant or anything in the intake, 8 bolts going straight up and down. You can swap one intake to another in about 7 minutes-less if you put your beer down first.
