2x4 using two different CFM carbs?

    Oh no they aren't!... They look cool as hell. And, that is a great purpose.

    This motor is just supposed to have acceptable performance and give folks something interesting to look at when I prop the hood open.

    I was thinking that because the Edelbrock's have vacuum secondaries I would not be over CFMed. Although I agree that the secondaries may never open on this motor.

    My plan is to run just the 2x4 manifold and dial in the carbs first. Then try out the Offy cross rams, to see how much they degrade performance. If its acceptable I'll run em'

    Yes, you'll have lots of problems,even it it runs good, and it can, because there are a lot of people doing it.

    The problems? Oh yes. As you sit there with it idling, cool as a cuke, somebody will come up and tell you it won't idle right. As you run it along the road at left lane IH speed, humming like a bird, somebody will pull up beside you and tell you it won't cruise right. After you have worn the motor out, some idiot will tell you it wasn't the 200,000 miles that wore it out, it was done by bad carburetion!

    Think of a Quadrajet or Thermoquad carb......

    You'll have your answer.....
