    Hello All
My T5 question has been well answered and I dont think cutting up the original K member is the way to go.
Now thinking about 3.25 final drive from 3.54 at the moment, engine is warmed over 284 with Ross pistons etc.
Anyone running 3.25 in a Deuce that can give an opinion?
    Thanks for looking.

image.jpeg image.jpeg I have a 2:75 gear in a 9 in with a relatively small flathead.I have to be running80 to engage 5th gear as the engine lacks the torque to pull 5th until higher illegal speeds. I think your 3:54 gear is good for the t-5. My Henry cabriolet weighs 2200 on the scales.

Thanks for replying, I'm running a 3 speed and have around 220lb of torque so should be ok.

Are you going to be pulling a lot of hills? How tall of a rear tire are you running? You could always go with a Columbia overdrive.

I have 3:25 in '32 roadster with 265 chev and '39 trans. The rear tires are 7.00 X 16. I don't recommend it if you do any city driving. Tires are just too tall. Hard to start in first, have to cruise in second for lower than 45 mph, and hard to turn street corners in 2 nd gear.

I put 3:25's in my 37 pickup, it had a worn out 21 stud motor, and 700/16's with a stock 3 speed. It was just fine for me. No drag racer, for sure, but it was way good on the highway..

Had 3.25 rearend in my '32 with a late flathead and a T5.
The motor would tach at 2,000 rpm at 60 miles per hour.
    Perfect!!

Thanks for the replies, food for thought.

  9. I swapped from a 3.54 to a 3.25 behind a flathead and '39 box in my '34. I love it. It's still great around town and loves the highway. I run a 7.50x16 tire. I will say I live in a flat area and don't have a lot of long hills to pull.
