Sponsors that pay to advertise on web sites look at the traffic or number of hits. Would it me better to allow bumps at the poster's whim rather than wait 3 days? Just think of the hits this site would generate if you could bump each day?? Love the site but just thinking out loud.
Yeah, but we don't do this for money... We do it for folks... And its better for folks in general to have a 3-day bump rule.
Would be interesting to have a poll to see what the folks think about this. No biggie since this is one of the best sites on the web with the rules as is.
We did have a poll on it, WAY before you signed on. It is what it is and it IS because some folks have nothing better to do than bump their ads every hour or so while people with jobs, working on their cars, LIVES, get their ad sent down the page so quick they don't stand a chance...
Makes sense to me but I usually just use the search feature when looking for a particular item and that way it doesn't matter where the ad is. I was just thinking out loud when I started this thread. Since the poll was "WAY" before I signed on, the three bump must have won.
No, actually no bumps won. That didn't work. A short run five day bumps showed it was too long... So now we landed on the three day bump and it has accomplished what we wanted to. Mostly. Thinking about it. If the numbers presented the possible sponsors were full of nothing but people bumping their ads it wouldn't be a fair representation of the traffic here anyway.
