My old man is at the pamona show out in cali. he bought me a 3 deuce offy intake for my '53 but it's for a 48-51. The guy who sold it to him said the only difference was that the oil fill was in the back instead of front. If anyone knows of a reason this won't work please let me know so I can have him stick a price tag back on it tomorrow.
    Thanks
    Chris
PS. if it won't work I'll have it up for sale for $200

As others said, it will work. The bolt holes for the block differ but just use the ones that line up. I don't remember but I think there are two less or something. The older manifold does not have the front breather like your '53 has. You will need to vent the crankcase somewhere. Neal

    Think the cutoff is 48.It's either 48 back,or 49-53.

    It will fit
But the crankcaseventilation will be screwed up.
The early ones let air in at the oilfiller at the back, and let it out at the lower front corner of the oilpan.

The 8Ba lets it in at the oil filler now in front, and there is a road draft tube that is connected at the manifold. The roaddraft tube "sucks" air from the bottom of the oilpan.

I have nor seen any nice solution on this problem, and if you have a Hot Rod and change oil often you should not have any major problem.

    So go for it...
