    1) I don't think I have 32 spindles...My front tires hit the split wishbones before full lock. Does anyone make longer bump-stops (kingpin cross bolt spindle stop nut) ? This??

    2) Is there a torque specification on the kingpin cross bolt spindle stop nut?
    3) Is there a torque specification on the big nut that holds the spring perches in?

    Thanks in advance ~

Try So-Cal or Roadster Supply at one time they offerer longer stop nuts. I'm probably not the right guy as I'm not very technical. I just tap in the tapered keeper until it's tight and snug the nut tight. Same deal with the perch nut. Just tighten it until it's good N tight. I've been using these methods for 50+ years and no failures to date. I'm sure someone will chime in with a better answer?

    Two explanations for tight
    1. Smoke Tight : tighten her till she’s a smokin , back off 90*
    2.German Tight : Good N Tight , then turn additional 90*

Do not use the spindle stop nut to pull the kingpin lock into the hole. I have snapped the locks doing that. Like Gary said, tap them in tight with a hammer, then snug the long nut onto it.

Depending upon how much extra length you need on the stops, if the pin goes into the boss deep enough there should be a surplus of threads protruding at the nut side, so a few washers or specially made spacer could be used. You could back the existing stop out to test whether this idea is doable. A little seems to make a big difference.

Or weld an extension to the existing nut? It could even be angled outward.

Pete and Jake’s used to have a longer stop nut, or you could space it out, like I did, with
a thick washer. Like the others said: DO NOT try to pull the pin with the nut, and make sure the kingpin slot is in alignment with the pin hole.

I use the longer ones from SoCal. Depending on tire size, usually gets me a couple fingers clearance to radius rods.

  8. The only time it will be an issue is tight turns in a parking lot. Even then it will just leave minor scuffs on the bones. If you are having issues with it going down the road you probably are in the ditch already or driving on ice

Of all the crusty rusty ones that I cussed trying to remove, a dab of anti seize goes a long ways.
