Can anyone tell me if the yoke on the back of a 3 speed transmission w/223 is the same as a 8cyl engine w/****** yoke? thanks

If I'm not mistaken, they should be the same. The only thing that's different is the bellhousing. I don't think I changed mine when I went from 223 to v8.

You're talking about the slip yoke?

Yup, according to Henry's part book they're all the same except cop cars. '49-'56 Part # B5A-4841-A

Is there a Bearing inside the tail of the transmission that could be wornout instead of the yoke? When i push up and down on the drive shaft the yoke moves around inside the ******. The universal joint is tight, if there is a bearing in there how hard is it to replace? something i can do myself or would it have to go to a transmission shop? thanks
