Check out this video footage by pinstriper Alan Johnson as he tours Custom Auto with owner, Dave Crouse in April 2008. If you like 3 window coupes, you're in for a real treat. The unofficial tour starts around minute 1:40. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIqxbvdrAZA
Love it Not Aunt Bea ..Please tell Opie I will meeting him and Goober at the Fillin Station after school.............
Since Barney and I had a falling out... I have lost touch with them... Lately I have found myself in the midst of AJ's dangerous friends... and they all run with scissors! Go figure.
That would be a super place to work. A new guy to hot rodding would do well to apprentice at a place like that. If I were starting out I'd show up there and offer to clean up the place after school and work into a job after graduation. What a way to launch a career in car crafting. Frank
Here's another hilarious clip of those "Damn Kids" and the '57! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjKoH0LXMKk&feature=related Note: This 1957 is a "barn find"!

Custom Auto has done quite a bit of work for me over the years, always top shelf quality. Dave and I always seem to be debating the details of "next" one, based mostly on the cool old speed parts we can find. A good working relationship that has become a great friendship. And these guys stand behind what they do without question, and even cover a suppliers ass if it helps the customer. They took a bath on a paint job of mine that was not their problem, but a Dupont problem. Dupont admitted a problem but would not step up and be professional. To save me grief, Custom Auto took care of the problem and took it on the chin financially as well. So, always give me Custom Auto work, and NEVER give me Dupont paint. The great thing is that it is suprisingly affordable. I'm no gold chainer by a long shot, just a plain old Plumber. Dave works out a time-table, friendly to a budget, and the goal gets accomplished. It just takes a little longer. And Alan Johnsons pinstriping is second to none as well. His work on my Deuce Five-Window is great and really looking forward to him striping my '40 Coupe.....hopefully soon. Johnnie.
