Hi, I haven't used this Forum much but it has a great reputation so thought I would register and give it a go. my name is Dave from Kent in the UK, I have a theory that there is a rodding gene as I have been in to rods for as long as I can remember and before I even new what they were! As a kid I was drawn to the toys with strange engines sticking out of the hoods. I can remember seeing a film on TV at an early age, that started with two hot rods having a road race, and I was hooked. At this stage I still didn't know what these strange cars where. Then at the age of around 11 I bought my first car mag, it was UK's one and only Custom Car (still going strong today) and it had Eddie Wimbles fad T on the front which just blew me away (I still think it was the best T ever built in the UK) This was in the early seventies, and I have been hooked ever since. I soon graduated to the American magazines when I could find them, but they were difficult to get hold of back then. I have had various attempts at building stuff over the years with out much luck and then life's usual diversion took over! more recently I came to the conclusion that I didn't have the skill or the time to build what I really wanted - a deuce coupe. So, a couple of years ago, for my 50th birthday, I finally fulfilled my dream and bought a deuce 3 window. I'm sure there are cries of "cheque book rodder" but I can live with that . It is not exactly what I would've built (it is two windows short to start with!) it but it is well built and I will tweak and change it more to my liking (with the exception of the windows of course) as time and finances permit. that's enough bull for now, Cheers, Dave
