Hot Rods 30-31 19" model a wheels on 9 inch rear need help

    I have model a wheels i want to put on my 9 inch rear end is there a way to do or not?

    aren't you worried about those wheels not holding up to the torque of anything more than a banger motor?

    Ford F-150 pickups had the same 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern as the A does. 9" drums are flat (single plane) A drums are stepped so you will need to make a spacer that will make the 9" look like the A drum surface.

    yup, use an adapter. its got a lip for the hub, as those wheels center on the hub not the lugs.

    What comprises the rest of your driveline???

    These wheels are pretty spindley. They were never designed for speeds any higher than about 50/60 max. They also flex a lot both radially and laterally.

    Not knowing anything about the car your building...weight, power, etc, I can only guess its more than than a 4banger in a T or A with a modern 9" rear axle.
    You have to do what you want but please think about the consequences of exceeding the design parameters of stock 80 year old wheels.

    Things could get hairy in a hurry:eek:

    Maybe someone makes a large diameter wire with a little more integrity that would work out better for your needs.
