30-31 Model A Schematics.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Shrapnel, Aug 14, 2010.

  1. Hi Guys
    I'm after some help please.
I'm building a mate of mine in Austrailer a 30-31 Model A Roadster Pickup on 32 rails.
We have the rails care of Juniors Kustom Rides and Classics , pinched to model a configuration.
The body ??? My aim is to build him an Alloy Body from scratch. We have a cowl section and doors off a tourer coming to use as patterns then to be returned to its owner, but from there back we're stumped. So , does anyone here know of or have any drawings/schematics that I can lay my hands on to use ?

    Cheers in advance.

  2. Cheers for that .
I'm pretty sure i can reproduce the cowl and firewall off the original when I get it . The guy is pretty clear about it being a 30-31 RPU , so I'm thinking if I can find a set of reasonably accurate drawings , I'll be able to get it right. It is going to be fenderless, and after a recent drawing/rendition GaryC did on friday art show a week or 3 back , will probably have a track nose to it !
I wont be starting the body for a while yet , aim is to have the frame all rolling by Xmas when he's over from Oz , body is aimed to be started early next year , which is why I'm putting the feelers out now for drawings etc.

    Cheers again

  3. Just thought I'd give this a quiet bump !

What I'm after here is drawings of the body and doors please.

We will be fenderless , and more than likely running a track nose front.

    Cheers

There are definitley a bunch of drawings of the Model A online somewhere, I just can't find them right now! They came out of a restorer's handbook, and should give you some overall dimensions of the entire body, but not a lot of closeup detail.

This is the book you're looking for, I know the images have been hi-def scanned and are out there... Google is your friend!

    Cheers, Glen.
