Anyone know if the any of the early Ford Speedo's came with a Right Angle (90 degree) adapter that mounted directly to the rear of the speedometer? If so, anyone make an aftermarket adapter?
Stewart-Warner and others made right angle and other adapters as well as gear change adapters to enhance speedometer accuracy. We used an old stock S-W 90degree adapter on the Track Roadster to set up the speedometer cable.
The 90 drgree adapter for that speedometer was a Stewart Warner #93899 thread size 3/4-20 male and 3/4-20 female but it was discontinued many moons ago. I will check to see if we have any old used ones in the ba*****t but dont get your hopes up.
Last time listed in the price list was 1988 for $39.00 (list price).......Listed in 1965 price guide $6.05 (list price). Not one to be found in our shop..sorry
If I'm not mistaken, that appears to be Stewart Warner 3 & 3/8 unit. Looking for a "Ford" adaptor might not be the best search. Just look for Stewart Warner. I highly recommend having your speedo/tach serviced as well as the 90 adapter. Side note: the 90 adapters are rare to find complete and unattached to an expensive unit.
