    Hi folks.
I'm slowly rebuilding a '30 A truck that I hope to drive someday before I rust away.
Currently I'm trying get the box in shape which was... well... rotten so, I've had to guess at some specifics.
I'm nearing the test-fit stage before final cleanup and I would like to know how this thing is attached to the sub frame rails.
The drawing I've attached shows sections in yellow that were not there when I got the parts (actually a lot less was there. This one was a pile). Hopefully someone has an exploded shot or a link showing the points and methods of attachment.
I also attached a before and after clean-up (using electrolysis) of the good bed-side. I've since added back the metal that was trimmed off years ago.
    Thanks for any help.
    Joe

    Thanks Brian.
I had looked at that wonderful tech before and I guess my meds didn't kick in for me to remember it. ;)
Only one question.. you simply bolt the bedsides to the valance? I guess a bead of some sort of sealant or some such thing in between would be good.
    Thanks again,
    Joe

  3. Yes, the bedsides bolt thru the Valance. The outermost row of bolts holding the hardwood floor boards in place do dual duty by also p***ing thru the bedsides and Valance peice.

Oh! That's just what I was wondering about.
    Thanks a bunch.
I'm not looking to restore and it' won't be perfectly straight (but no bondo). However, I don't want it TOO far from "normal".
What's your latest project? I did a quick search but figured I might as well get it straight from you.
    Thanks again.

  5. This year I bought a dropped and V'eed stainless steel headlight bar for the roadster pickup, and a set of original front fender brackets off ebay. The original front headlight bar was not level right from day one, and it made the rpu look lop sided when viewed from straight in front. I also had a slight tire scrub issue on hard parking lot turns between the aftermarket front fender braces and the inside of the front tire on the drivers side. Hopefully by going to the original Henry fender brackets, which had a narrower cross section, it will solve the tire scrub issue.---brian

    Sounds hopeful.
I get a kick out of people who say their car or house is "finished". ;)
    Good luck.
