anybody using the stock style shim that pushes deck lid over for a good gap,i can not get a good gap, that might be the only option if they work, would like to see some model a trunk ***embly pics with those shims?
Got the body centered good,if you were to leave the rear of body were it wants to go it would be to the left about a 1.5",then it looks off center from the rear when you step back and look at it,have to push the body over to look right, then my deck lid is off, well its off eather way
-Quite a few things can be wrong on an abused car. It may be racked, meaning one side of the car is further ahead. It may be leaning to one side? like / / The rear deck top panel might be shoved downwards causing the opening to be distorted Try measuring and comparing all over the back of the car.
Wheel base is the same, but if you measurefrom the rear of the car to the center of the rearend it is off,how much differance is there in right to left quarters on coupes, any?
Flip your deck lid over and measure diagonally....measure the opening the same way. Keep moving it around till both match. (minus gap) If that doesn't work, some thing else is bent. Maybe you could take measurements off of another coupe that isn't bent?
Like has been mentioned, cross measure everything. Write the measurements down, and maybe check another car. A tape measure is your best friend in situations like this.
i just split my deck lid 3/4 the way up,i have looked at a **** load of 30-31 coupes and,i dont fill so bad, most had problems, only a few fit very well, those were very stright cars to begin with, all i know is model a's **** when it comes to door and trunk gaps...
