Weeeell I still have the small and um EXPENSIVE matter of getting that 409 built! Selling blood, kidneys, ass hair and anything else I can hock so I keep the wife happy! Ha ha ha if all goes to plan I do the motor in June. That leaves August/September to work any bugs out. Then come spring next year I can get some miles on her so she’s good and ready for deuce days! Still accepting donations from any brothers willing... [emoji51][emoji120]

There is another bodily fluid you could sell, but you might want to check with your wife. Haha ha.

No pictures today BUT we have brakes!!! The old fart came up and we bled the brakes and got them all adjusted. Nice firm pedal and just a couple little leaks that I spotted while we were bleeding. Tightened up those fittings and all is good! Started on the wiring today as well. The wiring diagram that came with the harness is really big and easy to read so we put a good dent in that task today too. Keeping on truckin! [emoji51]

Join the Canadian Rodder tour. They start in Ontario somewhere and drive all the way.

    No...it’s not a $1.60. It’s actually $1.629. Yep gotta love B.C. taxes.

That’s good news. I’ll come up and take that 409 off your hands. It’s not worth much anymore cause of gas prices plus it needs a rebuild.

Wirings 90% done. Threw the tail panel in tonight and then the taillights so I can wire them in. Will get the license plate light and backup light in next and get them wired as well. Been picking up the last of the parts I still need. Flexplate, starter, tranny dipstick, stuff like that. Ordered up the speedo gear kit and tv cable kit from bowtie overdrives today as well. They make a kit specially for a three deuce set up for Rochesters that is really easy to adjust. Funny how all these last needed parts add up!! Saw this cool old bike with side car out and about today. Think it’s an old BMW? Don’t know old bikes real well but this ones cool for sure!

Yup, that’s an old bmw. Had one very similar to that one in college. No side car. They just don’t make them like that anymore.
Coupe looks great, slow down and enjoy the reconstruction, it’s the fun part.

Have you got the linkage worked out for those carbs ? Like to see how you’re doing it

Yes sir here’s some pics. The progressive linkage came with the tripower rebuild kit from speedway. You replace the original throttle shaft with the long one pictured so make the linkage connect the carbs. It’s a nice piece

No progressive linkage means they do not. Motor idles and lower rpm runs off the centre carb and as you get into the throttle the linkage grabs open the two outboard carbs to then open them all up. Outboard carbs have no idle circuits and the new bases that come in the kit to rebuild the carbs with have super tight fitting throttle blades that allow no air to pass. That’s how a true gm tripower is designed to work. This makes the system easy to tune despite what some guys worry about because you’re only tuning the centre carb for the motor to run. Outboard carbs are just slaves that come into play at heavier throttle. Makes for lots of low end torque, great throttle response and good gas mileage. When you open em up then she becomes a beast with a big thirst to go with it. Ya baby!! [emoji51] Looks cool, looks right for the hot rod and work like a hot damn. What’s not to love

Pounding away on wiring and assembly. Super happy with the quality of the coachworks wiring kit. Still a little bit to go and then go through and tidy up all the wires, put braid on etc but we're getting there!

Something’s missing! Pulled the carrier so we can put the new posi and 4.11’s in. Then I can button up the back end, put the fuel tank and battery box in etc. One thing in front of the other.

It's going to be pretty snappy with 4:11s :)

With the 4.11’s, the 31” tall tire and 700r4 it’s puts the rpm around 2100 at 70mph. Wanted the car to be comfortable at highway speeds so we can put miles on her. In my camaro I have a turbo 400 with a gear vendors and 3.42’s. Runs at the same rpm as the coupe will at 70. It’s just a nice cruise speed/rpm on the highway. The new cars like my truck are geared crazy. 8 speed auto so you’re doing 1100 rpm at 70. Motor sounds like you’re lugging it. Not a fan. I know it’s all about gas mileage in the new stuff but I want to have some rpm so if you want to jump on it and pass someone the rpm is there.

4.11 is dead on for that combo. Good choice!

Pounded pretty hard on the car today. Got the carrier, axles back in. Everything happy. All the exhaust put in. Headers are at chrome and should be ready next week. Gas tank in, plumbed and wired up. Wiring is done with the exception of motor connections. Gonna start on the interior tomorrow put the floor panels in perhaps some of the glass. Layout the carpet as well. Trucking along.

Thanks Duke. Worked hard to build as good a car that I can. Looked at a ton of other cars for design ideas and inspiration. Been a fun build.
