You would think those little filters would affect the motor as much as they did but when you think about it, the motor is a 30over 409 that at idle or low throttle is trying to suck in a lot of air through one two barrel carb. We experimented with the filter with the scoop removed. Motor would sit and idle perfect and you could place the filter over top of the center carb air horn and the motor would almost die! It would absolutely not run with the filters in place. I was going to do single units but the couple prototypes i built also didn't flow enough air with the size of filters i was using. This final design allows me to run a larger filter for the centre carb and then smaller ones for the two outboards. She pulls good and hard when you get into it with this design.

I do enjoy the solace of a lonely dirt road but gotta be careful on the loose gravel with the Ole Bias plys...and that grate tells me the Cows aren't very far away...good to see you out for some fresh air Fitness...

Great car but in this photo I would be painting that alternator black or flat black right quick. Never noticed it in any of the other photos of it but for some reason in this photo it just jumps right out at you.

Kinda cool, Generation Old School reached out and asked if I would shoot a video of the coupe for their “submit your ride” videos. Just posted up this morning. The little coupe’s famous eh @Stogy ? [emoji3]

Can't say the other ones are my style but yours looks great.

A couple grabs from the video :)

The paint looks a different color depending on how the light hits it.

Thanks, yes some of the other rides are an acquired taste for sure. Not a fan of the giant oversized steel wheel look. Give me a factory steel wheel with a dog dish any day! Yes the paint definitely flops depending on the light. Can go real dark if there’s little sunshine all the way to quite bright if the suns out full.

What’s that saying a hot rod is never done? [emoji16]
Been picking away at a few things needing tweaking with a few years of the coupe being finished. Swapped out the Delco starter for a mini starter as the OG unit wasn’t a fan of the heat. Always do winter maintenance and inspections every year as well. Also finished a redo of the headlight bar. Wanted to lower the bar to drop the headlights down and then decided to add the top bar to dress things up a little. Few more things to tick off the list before spring arrives.

I hadn't seen your build before this morning. Now I'm slowly digesting the whole thread. Do you happen to have the colour code for that paint still? It looks great and so does the rest of the car!

I'm near Edmonton, Alberta and have a 28 A roadster pickup project.

Hey thanks, the colour is a PPG colour called organic maroon. Unfortunately it is discontinued. When we were deciding on a maroon I can tell you there were a million different shades so I am sure you could find something pretty close

Of course it's discontinued... :( Thanks!

Do you happen to know what you used on the frame/headlight bar?
