Hot Rods 30 Model A Build Headlights

Need some help with my Headlight Housing. Thanks to some of you we determined that my headlight housing were Spun Br***. The housings have some minor gouges and dents that need to be repaired. I think I'm going to paint the housings and chrome plate the lenses ring. My question is can you use body filler, glazing and sand? What type of primer do you recommend? Is it necessary to use a special body filler on br***?
