Makes me wish I did something more like that with mine this winter. Can't wait to see it in the sunlight. I gotta reask DRuss32's question. What color wheels?

Thanks for all the nice comments guys. The wheels will be suede black like the front end suspension with chrome 46 ford baby moons. I have a nice set of original ribbed trim rings..but I'm not sure If I'm gonna use em.

Spent the weekend getting some last minute parts at York and doing some ***embly yesterday and today.

Rolled it out in the sun for some pics.

I put on the grill shell and grill, cleaned up the headlights (thanks to Koz for letting me using his buffing wheel), put on some acorn nut covers on the head bolts, put on a 36 Ford trunk handle with an O'Brian truckers Von Dutch wing thing that I drilled and fitted to my handle....not sure if I like like this though...hummm, installed the tailights and headlights, installed front and rear spreader bars. Installed the seat. I'm really diggin the color combo with the seat and the paint.

Stuff to do tomorrow and this coming week..hang doors and install cowl top and welting, hang front turn signals, install tank in rear, get new front tires, repaint front and rear wheels and
Man it's really almost done though..I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

My friend Allen (Buddy Palumbo on HAMB) and I have been working on the wiring for the past couple of days and have been making good progress. Pulled the seat out so we have some room to work. We've been working till about 11pm each night...check out the artsy fartsy late night garage pic below. He's quite the electrical guru and has been a tremendous help.

Finished up the fuel and ****** lines today also.

It's really the little things that take the most time. I wanted to run Model A cowl lights on the front frame rails to use as turn signals and parking lights. I thought they would look pretty cool with the EJ headlights. The problem is that the bases on the cowl lights are slanted to compensate for the taper of the cowl to keep the lights facing forward. When I stuck the lights into the frame rail they angled outward pretty bad.
So...a friend of Allens made up this slick little bushing cut on an angle which ****s on both sides of the frame rais to hold the light flush to the frame and also facing forward at the proper angle. Pretty cool.

I used the back holes on the front spreader bar for mounting. Reamed them out to accept the cowl light mounting shaft. I think it took me two hours to get everything fitting right. What a pain in the *** ..but it came out the way I wanted.

    Just about finished !!!

a few more little things to go.....I'm gonna take it out tomm and see how it runs on the open road. Been doing back alley and around the blockers mostly.

just pulled it outside for a few pics....new front rubber

All wiring is finished ..lights working..turn signals..etc..all working

Huge thanks to the wiring guru Allen ( Buddy Palumbo) for his awesome help.. He put many long nights in with me this past week to finish it up and his help won't be forgotten.

Well - one more long-*** night has put it one step closer to being officially roadworthy . Thank goodness , cause too many more & I'll be divorced , lol !!! The bright part of tonight (quite literally) was seeing those E&J's light up at night ... they're like friggin' LASERS !! Pretty impressive for old-*** lights . It's been cool working on the rod .

Jerry, i know i told you i'd be down Sat AM for the deck skin. I hope the garage is well guarded because i could slip down a few hours earlier with the trailer and.......well leave you with the lid. Seriously can we take the roadster around the block Sat? Guys wait till you see this car in person, she's a beauty.

Really nice job. Great look with the decklid and slight front channel. No doubt you made the right choice last year. Anyone thats building one would have got a lot of help by watching your thread and getting some good pointers. Again, really nice job.

Man...just like I like 'em...deuce frame, dark paint, blackwalls, and a big early engine with 6-2's. Nice and easy on the eyes. Beautifully simple...simply beautiful. Love the colors...dark green with a gold motor...yeah. HomemadeHardtop57, is it everything you dreamed? (It certainly is everything I've dreamed for my '29.) Congrats, and thanks for the excellent inspiration! -Rick
