Land ..before you lay judgement, you may want to lose the polished billet valve covers on your car cause they are not in traditional style..LMAO... So I guess Ed Roth, George Barris, VooDoo Larry, Barney Navaro ...etc ..etc... would be ridiculed here?!?! Kar don't let Land the self appointed moron to discourage you and you posting because he's the only one that seems to not like it. There are many of us who do! Last i checked wasn't hot rodding started by those who built "different" cars that weren't the norm and with things they scrounged and fabricated themselves??? Its ashame that there are a lot of these so called "hot rodders" on here that seem to feel they are god and that what their opinion of what a hot rod is final word and we should all build cookie cutter cars like they do.. So now because we use mig/tig welders we are not tradional builders??? How about appreciating the history and what hot rodding IS about and appreciating the new innovations that have also come along..
It seems these "o'le timers" feel we need to be sheep..NO THANKS . I've seen HUNDREDS of posts of cars being built "out of the norm non traditional" cars on here and because these guys are with the in crowd they get praise.... I am not one that feels the need to judge someone on their rodding style I am a car guy and like different opinions not opinions from guys who pay to have their cars built of think we should follow their every rule..
I am here to learn and share and appreciate others ideas and style unlike some of these guys who just want to imopse their cookie cutter ideas so obviously we don't fit in here but thats whats going to make me stay!!

Keep up the awesome work and myself would like to see this car build updates

Not whats done here?? What exactly is done here?? besides ridicule your own opinion s far as i've read Land you are the only one imposing your negative input.. Try gettin out in the garage and build something and do less judging and negative imposing on those not in your "in crowd"

There are HUNDREDS of build post here that are MUCH farther from "traditional" than our cars how about banning all the guys on here with cars that have mustang II front ends under em.. leather interior.. power windows.. wow how about banning cars that are shiny with clear coat??? or all cars with radial tires??

I'll be the guy everyone loves to hate

Dude just take it easy... you are a function of your own pain and drama... Just don't respond to the negative posts. Believe me I've had my share of flaming on the HAMB, it's just part of the experience. You appear to have talent and the horsepower to follow through on some beautiful work! Hang in there... For God sakes my first post was about my new to me "Rat Rod" LOL!

I do tend to be a little thin skinned. I just need to ignore the negative stuff.
Anyway, for you who, like myself, soak in all the ideas you can, I will keep posting. I am completely open to constructive criticism. I am a rookie at this car building stuff. It is my hobby, period.
Anyway, here are a couple more pics of the dragrod, and a couple of early wrecker build pics.

The motor and trans are bolted in. Wasn't sure how the suspension would react to the rat motor, but it is just fine, thanks.

This motor was dyno tuned, so I don't want to change the induction system. I also don't want some boring-assed single four barrel sticking out like a sore thumb. I fabbed this airbox out of .090 aluminum and bought some 6" stacks that fit on Weber carbs. The box will be crinkle black powder coated and the ribs on top will be exposed aluminum so that they will match the valve covers.

I used my CNC turret punch and a rib forming tool to make this unique roof panel.

I'll be at MoKan if I have to push this pile of rust down there myself! I've got a grudge race with my buddy who has a badass Anglia. We are pitting screaming SBC power against BBC torque. Should be a blast. Hope I don't need wheelie bars:)

More pics. Worked on designing the firewall/motor plate today. Two hoops under the cowl will support the firewall, cowl steering, and reversed master cylinder.

Firewall/ midplate is in. Combined with the two hoops that will be under the cowl and the door bars, she should be pretty rigid. Floor/ seatpan is next.

You know you have to DRIVE that thing to the HAMB Drags right???

Your little car is a bit diffrent from the norm, so not everyone is going to dig it, but don't let that stop you.

    See you at Mo-Kan, -Abone.

P.S. Can I borrow your CNC turret punch???

It's a pump gas motor with 3.42 gears. Won't be too comfy, but it is definitely road worthy. I'll bring one of my turrets with me. Maybe I can program it to make Margaritas.

An hour and a half later, and the support channels for the hoops are fabbed and cut in. The hoops are trimmed and ready to weld in.
