So im looking at getting a 70's 302 with auto trans for my 1950 ford. The ones i've found have power steering. ill be sticking with the old steering box for now but am i able to remove and"block off" the power steering pump or is that a bad idea?
If you don't need the power steering pump, it can be unbolted and stored for use later. Important issues for the installation, right at the get-go will likely be the oil pan, motor mounting system, and radiator. There have been reports that shorty headers for a Fox-bodied Mustang work well. Good luck, and keep us updated as it goes together.
