Hey guys, I am wondering if a 241-270 red ram dodge hemi will bolt up to a 38 plymouth car bellhousing, or if the hemi bellhousing will accept the 38 plymouth transmission? I know nothing about mopar stuff but ive got a 38 plymouth coupe with a stuck flat 6 and ive got a lead on a 54-56ish super red ram hemi, and im wondering if that engine will bolt up to the plymouth ****** by chance.

Anyway, if you could help me on this I would definately appreciate it, or if you could point me to a website that could help me, that would definitely help too.

    Thanks, Briggs

  2. This may or may not help but -I did this once as a kid...
I had a 48 Plymouth with the flat six and it went bad,so I had a chance to getr a poly V8 from a'56 Plymouth.
They were both 3 speed cars originally.
I removed the 48's six and the 56 V8 bolted up to the trans and almost was able to use the front mount with a little reworking it did work..
I cannot remember for positive but I think I used the six bell housing too....
seems the trans would not fit the car from a 56 and had to use bell too in order to use the 48 ******.... confused ye:D t?

  3. my bet would be the early trans bolting to the hemi bell housing
