checked out dropping the bumper but the frame rails would show. i think the bumper is staying where it is. may just paint the tank black.
had a little time this evening and decided to make the grill insert. i bought this s.s. mesh at the flea market for $20 last year to use for this. i just did not want to put it in flat and i didn't want to see through it. so i stuck it in the brake.
lined the first bend up with a wire, bend 90 degrees. pull it out of the brake, flip it over, push it in till it stops, check that it is straight, bend 90 degrees, repeat,
i wanted a "factory" look and i think this should work. it should let enough air in and block the view of the radiator.
thanks! took me four rows of struggling before i thought to use a piece of angle iron to hold it against the brake even.
Luv the grill fabrication and the car. Nice to see a Buick too. I remember my GS the RA 350 had 330 hp stock and boy the car moved. Great job. If I didn't have my 2 projects I'd consider buying it.
I wish! I think it's for a '34-5 Chev. Dan Webb gave it to me a few yrs. ago and I probably won't use it. Give a few measurements Ted.
wanted to bend up the running boards tonight. long work week, any body remember how i made the sample? it seamed real easy the other day. try again in the morning.
finally remembered to get the measurements, 18" wide at the top, 20" wide at the bottom, and 25 inches tall. all these are measured to the out side edge of the bead around the opening. + or -.
