I stumbled on this mis-listed 31 Chevy (guy had it listed as a 37) while surfing the ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2446464650&category=6173 Looks like it could be a good project for a HAMBer....
...saw that thing at the Auburn auction, and boy, is it ROUGH!!! The frame is SCARRY!...I mean, REALLY SCARRY! There is NO floor or even a hint of subrails or bracing at all, steering is absolutely death rod worthy,...I believe the deck lid was welded to the quarters, and the body was mocked up on the chassis with 2x4's!
i saw that and i was kind of skeptical. i clicked on view the sellers other items and he has the same car for sale in another auction with a different item number and a different price. same car on 2 different auctions. seems fishy. or i think so. but i am paranoid and think everyone is out to get me diego
That thing went for $2500 at the Dallas Kruse auction. I was helping get it up on stage, and the transmission which is held in by a chain dropped to the floor when we tried to roll it off the stage. I had to jump into that piece of shit and lift the transmission as 6 guys tryed to push it off the auction ramp. Finally it came free after about 5 minutes of pushing (and almost taking off my foot) and I sat in it and steered it to a resting spot. It's really good for the aluminum heads and the tires and wheels. Something could be done with the body, but the rest is pretty much junk!
