well first of all the car came to me in pieces, about 2 months ago, consisting of only a frame, motor, transmission, rear end and wheels. and a body. the body was chopped, but done very poorley so i had to rechop and drop it down another 3/4" on one side and a 1/2' on the other to level it out. not to mention cutting the roof panels off of both sides at the beltline to fix the roof. i am not bragging about anyone elses work, it would have been alot easier for me to start with a stock body, whoever cut the floor out did not know what he was doing, he didnt even brace it before doing so. it took me a good week just to get the body twisted back and squared away before i was able to build the subframe to hold it all together and if you cant notice by the picture the cab is channeld more now. the firewall recess was crooked so i cut it out reformed and repositioned it, and i am acutually going to redo it because i still think it looks like hell. the firewall needed as much attention as the rest of the car. but maybe your right, since i didnt do the first chop or cut the subframe out i cant claim to have built this car, but i done see it that way. i would never claim any work that someone else did as my own, i feel that since i cut out all of the old metal work and started over that this is my build, i already stated that i did not do some of the frame work, and if using and mofiying a frame that some one else started means that i cant claim a car build as my own then there are alot of guys on here that are in the same boat, and i guess would mean that i would have to say the same thing about my next build because im planning on using a frame from squeak bell. if there is still any question that i did not do the work on this car i will supply more pictures to prove so if necesarry. and if you are still not satisfied when the car is done that i built it then i will just have to build another one, and thats fine with me.

We got a lot in common! Over the last year, I as well have been building my first from the ground up. I started with a '29 tudor body, switched to a '31 pickup body, changed my damn mind again (for the last time!), and now have a '31 5w coupe body. I think your car is coming along great, and when were done, we can say WE built it. Keep learning, and keep working! That's what I've been doing. Wish my body was as far along as yours! Oh yeah, mine is still missing the rear quarters, fun times.

I had a question on the position of the rear wishbone. I looks like the body is sitting right on top of it. Maybe its the camera angle. When this body is complete your going to have a lot more weight on it and seems that the wishbone is going to be hitting the body. Does anyone else see that?

it was just a mock-up, none of the suspension is bolted down in the pictures, but your right they would hit the body. i thought i might be able to use the mounts that were already on the frame but they interfere with the body so i had to cut them off and start over. i still might have to cut out part of the bottom of the cowl for clearence, that or shorten the wish-bone..
