Some progress has been made, albeit slow. I got the Plymouth axle from Ruiner then modified it for Ford spindles, with help from 33 ply 440. The T5 is mocked into place so the crossmember can be completed. An Essex grille shell from Towaholic was a great trade, and a nice road trip.

when i bought my 31 essex i thought it wouldnt look right with no fenders especially with the flare over the rear fenders. your car proves my theory all wrong. i have been trying to figure out how the hell im going to lower the front and put juice brakes on it, i dont want to go tube but it seems the only practical way for me would be tube axle on top of the springs. im keeping my fenders anyway.
