    Your Skills are awesome! Everything was already said and I can only say that you‘re close to unreal.
    And as if it‘s nothing just restore a Vespa inbetween, pretty cool sir.
    How do you cut these thick metal sheets, or do you buy custom lasered parts?

    Not gonna lie, vespa build was suprisingly exhausting. Load of work in such small scoot. For you German folks @miguel.st it is painted in porsche ice green metallic !

    The 3mm thick c-notch plates i cutted diy-methods with angle grinder. Just using cardboard template. After cutting all 4, i clamped them all together and finish grinded them to be precise same size/shape.
    I did saved the templete to possible get them done with laser, or plasmacutter later on for 32 frame.

    WOW ! Had places to go but couldn't stop watching the build . I've been building Hot Rods for 50 years and I now realize I might as well been using an old hatchet and a pipe wrench for tools ! WHAT AN ARTIST !

    Offtopic(ish) but for the build anyway ! Started building this gantry grane. Tack welded, needs couple strengtenin bars also.
    Old electric 500kg lifter.

    Main reason to build this is because "regular" engine lifter won't fit under the low hotrod in many places, expecially in front end IMG_20231104_153340.jpg IMG_20231104_000039.jpg IMG_20231104_152315.jpg

    New c-notch is now done.

    Building new 4 bar mounts to frame.
    As the car sits so much lower the 4-bar angles were wrong. The upper bars are going to be quite high on the frame/floor.

    Any concern that all this readjusting of the stance will change once the power train is installed?
    Would it be better to set the chassis up with the weight from the motor/tranny in it?

  16. One of my all-time favorite builds on the HAMB . . . just love seeing your work. Now, when the car is done, bring it over to the States - as you have a lot of SiSu in this build. ;)

    Thanks Joel ! I did throw the engine at front and transmission, flywheel, couple big water canisters etc for weight in the car.

    Now when the car is in the stance i wanted, with weight on at front axle, i measured the needed amount of C-notch, then made the rear 4 bar angles right ( at the right stance )

    So now there is left to determine/know/guess the amount of preload to coilover shocks.
    Some internet calculator gave 1,5cm ( 0,6 inch) preload with that spring rate. So i made the coilover mounts to that height, with the preload added on to the lenght.

    This is kind of guessing game, at least for me, so hard to know the real weight of the car once everything is on and in driving condition.
    Good thing is there are 3 different height mounting holes for the coilover, now it is in the middle one. And the spring stiffnes adjustment on the coilover. Gives me little play on the true final ride height.

    That is definitely an dream for me ! Bringing the car to the states for GNRS !
    Thinking about selling bike, or an kidney to afford the shipping :D

    I needed to shorten the lower bars 20mm ( ~3/4 inch) because the frame X-member was getting in way. I made quick welding jig for the job.

    For this low car i'm thinking ladderbars would have been better because the upper 4-link bars are way up there above floor. But they already are there, so i'll just make tunnels to the floorpan.

    Pictures of the Kustom motor mounts build.

    Build out of 5mm ( 0.197 inch ) stainless steel. Mounts with M12 treaded tred, what is treaded and welded on to the motor mount.

    I have been thinking about building some for sale. I made that solid welding jig that purpose.
    The cost would come up from higher price of the stainless steel, cost of laser cutting, grinding and polishing material.
    BUT stainless steel doesn't need chroming, and that is huge saving. Atleast in Finland the high cost of the chroming would be almost same as the cost to build these
