Brian, It was good to see you again and check out spooky in person. Thanks for letting me sit in it. I will always probably have the A bug for the "next one" and always been a coupe man but dang that is a tiny little car once you take 4" out of the roof. -Larry
It was good to see you, Larry. You know, if I would have had a better body that wasn't totally rotted on the bottom, I would have ran it unchanneled on '32 rails. That with a mild 2 1/2" chop would give an additional. 5 1/2" of headroom.
Suuu-weeet sound'in little Ford! Anxious to see/hear it with all the "stuff" on it! 6sally6 PS.......Use to live in Swainsboro, Ga.
Thanks. I wish the kid would have turned the camera sideways. Heck, I wish I would have recorded the grin on his face driving it back. It was his first time driving a stick.
Shifter boot bump added to the trans tunnel. I plan to replace the tunnel sheet metal screws with 10-24 machine screws and rivnuts.
I used a Ford 10" drum to bend the straight Bratton's drip molding. I made a hammer form dolly from 1/4 plate by cutting a radius to match the drum. A piece of 1/2 tubing was placed inside the molding to keep it from collapsing. The 3 lb hammer provided motivation.
2 1/2" Porter shorty mufflers. No insulation, carpet or rear glass https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=2222013034740152 https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=2222012974740158
That shroud came out really nice, what a great ideas using the turkey pans. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
brian !..I am a gearhead for life...(I just had knee replaced so i'm reading non stop) and I have enjoyed reading every post here !...absolutely loved everything especially the Family aspect...great build !...continued success with it.....charlie
Bird pan idea rocks !... consider it stolen... I baste my turkeys with Dr. pepper.... for car events I use Wallmart's Dr. thunder... ......… I call those "Dr. Thunderbirds" !
The exhaust guy was concerned about overheating the master cylinder so he dropped the pipes down a bit. It's a little lower than I wanted them but I haven't had any ground clearance issues and you can't really notice it unless you squat. I'm thinking about adding a crossover pipe to smooth out the Porter shorty mufflers a bit. You can hear 'em 5 miles away when you romp on it.
Primer and Americans on a chopped channeled coupe, what a tough profile. Great inspiring home built work too
That first pic there is just bad a$$! Perfect stance and the wheel and tire combo is perfect. Very nice job.
Nothing better than a build with the boys, years of memories for your family. Great job with the build, thanks for sharing with us here.
On the note of drip rails, how did you end up attaching them? I keep worrying about water getting between them and the body.
