heres how the pick up looks now, doesnt seem like a lot of change, but theres a lot of decisions made, about proportions, cab length etc.
the motor is a '67 289W,pretty much stock, will build a three carb manifold out of the stock 2barrel alloy one.Bones will be shorter and attach just in front of cowl.next job is engine mounts and trans crossmember/pedal mount, then fab up the rear end (4 bar with A spring)
I love my overland grille shell. [IMG]
any oz guys gotta 31" wide front spring gathering dust?

heres how I lengthened the rear panel, with a section of a fordoor back door, had to angle the piece to get the reveals to line up,they turned out pretty close.also tapered the inserted piece to angle the rear panel back a few degrees to allow more room for the seat back.waiting to seew if i get a henrob for xmas before i weld em up fully [IMG]

Running the perch bolts upside down, presto! instant lower shock mount.
spring mounts to another set of perch bolts running horizontal thru bones just behind axle(oh yeh gotta do that bit too.... [IMG]
grille shell needs to come down more, maybe an inch and a half.

  10. Hey, one shot the grill shell looks too tall and then the next it looks OK. What gives?

    Nice progress though....

The narrowness of the Windsor will be kinda handy. Will make it easy to set up the exhaust, for sure, without looking so cramped.

    46. I dig the wide track look, reminds me of old aussie hillclimb specials like my dad used to race.
Drilled 13 holes in the axle.
    for luck. [IMG]

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, the hamb is the main reason i got my shit together to build this thing, so-what's ,Zibo's ,rogues RPU's are all big influences.
Im doing the motor mounts this week, will document it with photos and do a tech post- will be nice to contribute back to the hamb. [IMG]

spicer springs in campbellfield will make you a spring to your spec, with reversed eyes and all. Or there is another spring works out sunshine way, cant remember the name though.

they are dirt cheap to get made, and then you know its not 70+ years of use old.

  24. Hey Ben,

Good to see the luxo digi cam is being put to good use. The rod looks awesome. You going to run a shortened bed? I say leave it off...and make it a lakes modified...way more cooler then a RPU. And if Mikee says any different...dont listen to him!

I'm really digging those rear tyres, the look insane...Dirt Tracker look alikes. Over all everything looks excellent.

    When you popping over next?

    Danny

  25. Ben don't listen to Dan!

Thought he did have a good idea to stick the battery up under the dash????

    HEHE....when you need help next???
    Im itching to help...please..!!!
    Dont make me beg! [IMG]

  26. Hey Ben,

Yeah I want in aswell on the helping thing. Dont make me beg for it like one of your drunken uno playing hoes man!
