Hay, check out my "A". 95% home built hope you like.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aStWaHugFKU Been building for Three year but only in the winter. So only realy been working on it for 9 to 12 months. Street ready by May 1, 2010. Road trip to Cal. In June and Bonniville in Augs. That the plans. Yes I will drive every where.. Thanks guys..
Just post some pics. My connection won't let me see it. The name of your video will probably get you flamed on here. The word r*t r*d is not looked upon kindly here. I can't see the car so I can't say what I think of it.
Looks like nice craftmanship. Word to the wise, people round these parts arent too partial to rats... But I like it anyway, Adam
Ok, parallel ladder bars on a street car is a no-no. Do a search, it's been thrashed and explained enough on this site.
Your ride looks cool! Good work! Don't worry about the terminology..they get a little crazy on this site if you say rat rod...from what I can tell you could have a purple lowered s-10 blazer with a flathead in it and be ok as long as you call it a jalopy or traditional rod Have fun driving it, thats what it is all about!!!!
This place has gotten a little watered down through the years but I hope you're not right about that. I don't enjoy being fed hamburger and then find out it's game meat. Not trying to slam anybody, It's just that I don't think it belongs on the H.A.M.B. and there were probably 10 other similar posts where I kept my trap shut before finally replying to this one.
That is a cool car. Looks like it is well built. I would not call that a rat rod though. Especially on here. You will get a major *** chewin on here for using those words.
I can belive know one has anything to say, But you shouldn't use the R word here. My car not the R word Its a home built custom by me and all me. Sorry that my father in law doesn't know any better. Thanks guy love you all..
It's easy to sit in here and hack on somebody else's ride. My **** isn't even running, but, since you asked for feedback more than once, here ya go: +1 one the parallel ladder bars...big no no I can't hear the audio (watching at work). What kind of car are you building? Soemthing for the drags? Does that explain the door placement? Just a bit non-standard is all....go with it, it's different. I kinda like the car, I don't like the lettering on the door. Too trashy for a car like that. The car doesn't seem to flow well. It's all over the place. It looks like you want it to look like ****, yet you put (what appears to be) a lot of work into the drivetrain and ch***is. Can't do one area well, and leave on the rest of it. The paint on the front end is all over the place. I would keep it all one color. Black here, orange there...stands out too much. The key is simplicity. Make it look simple, even though it isn't. Doane Spencer's car ring a bell? Personally, I would have gone coil-overs in the back instead of the HUGE (ahem---purple) coils you put in. Personally, I'm running a parallel leaf, but...to each his own. Dig the louvers out back, not sure about the tail lights. All in all...would I drive it? **** yes, I'd boil the skins right off that *****. Keep up the good work. Don't take my critique as a personal insult, it's just feedback from MY perspective. Hell, I'm building a 32 Roadster with a 302/Top-loader (discs all around). It's going to LOOK 1955, but run like 2010! And there is my $0.02.
ok if you want feedback. 1. quick bumping your thread back to the top 2. stop trying to get your youtube views up because thats what 14 year old girls do. 3. it looks like pretty average car and theres alot cooler **** to look at, so theres not much feedback on the car to give....
Let it rest. The father in law was correct and it is what it is. The car just doesn't belong here and if you wanna impress this board take the skills you've gained and build the next one as they really did "back in the day", not some skewed interpretation of it. Put down the OSR, ignore modern trends and get some good old yellowed hot rod print for reference. Their not that pricey if you get them in lots on the "bay". The details, it's all in the details.
Hay, boys check it out now..http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=14001&pictureid=292461
