I'm building a 1931 Ford Tudor. It already has a 4" dropped "I" beam front axle. I would like to drill holes across the axle. Any thoughts? Will I cause the axle to be weakened? I'm using a "B" banger engine so there is not the weight of a V8 engine.

Is the axle out of the car?
    Is it a Ford axle?

Drilling axles seems a bit like a 50s/60s thing to do.
Is that what you’re shooting for?
B motor makes me think earlier.

Look at Okie Joe’s website. Maybe call him.

Looking for that 50's or earlier look. I don't know the origin of the axle, it will be out of the car shortly. The "B" engine has been highly modified and has a Crager head, header, duel stromberg 97's, Mallory duel point, lightened flywheel, V8 clutch and a T-5. I'll check Okie Joe's web site. Thanks!

  5. In that case you don't have to worry about drilling it;)
