Hi, The roof is finally on the Tudor. Pics to come in the album. In the end I should have gone to the junkyard with a tape and a sawzall. Howells Sheetmetal sends a flat sheet of steel with beads on it that was a ***** to fit to the round in all directions. Been better if the beads went in after we fitted it but live and learn.' The minitubs are in process. The Howell's minitubs for the model A are definetly a universal size and needed to be "unwelded", trimmed, shaped and rewelded into place. Once again, live and learn. Would have been easier to buy the stock and make the pieces ourselves. We are going to suicide the doors next. Has anyone got pics. of theirs or others that have them done already? We are toying with just putting the right door on the left and the left door on the right but I want he hinges hidden? Give me your opinion if you have one. Happy Turkey day to all. Jeff
Never tried suicide doors on Model A. I am attempting to build metal doors, to skin with wood using suicide doors. Do not try to build your own hinges, did that three times, and none worked correctly. Do not try to use hood or trunk hinges. Been there! If I was to do it over I would buy a set of hidden hinges. The installation of the hidden hinges is a little difficult, if you are off a few degrees the door will either swing down or up when opening. The other big concern is are you going to change the Model A doors from over lapping to inset? Have fun and enjoy your turkey day.
