Damn Bert. Do you need or want a new neighbor? Mine are nice but boring compared to you! Gorgeous stuff.

If you s****e all of that sludge out of the lifter valley you will probably get an extra mile per gallon just from weight loss! That thing looks like it could use some TLC...
Cant beat the torque from a big block MoPar :)

Engine flushing can cause oil pressure problems and other issues. My 318 in the Dart looked the same - I cleaned out the galley sludge carefully by hand when doing a valve job initiated by a stuck exhaust valve. Put her together with lots of ***embly lube.... Been running fine ever since....

I agree with COE on this one....if you dont clean that **** out of there by hand and just flush it...it is just going to make its way down into the oil pan...and into the oil pickup where it is going to clog it...this making your oil pressure go bye bye...thus making the bearings go bye bye...wanda doesnt want that!

Hopefully he s****ed it out when he was in there and didn't tell us.

I've got a couple of buddies who are hard core into late 60's and early 70's Mopars and it isn't fun changing from a 318 to a 383 in one of those when you have to swap K members to get the motor mounts right. I'd hate like hell to have to go the other way and then have a car that didn't have as much power as the half dead 383 had.

I'd be changing the oil and filter on that thing real often for a while to make sure that the crud didn't come loose and get down in the oil pan.

No sense messin' around with that old 383 and way too much work to put a 318 in there, just let me know when would be a good time and I'll take off your hands. :D

    Nice truck!

Everybody sells parts for the B engine. NAPA, to Schucks, RockAuto to Ebay, and a thousand places in between.

A good place to start: http://www.moparts.com/
