was just trying to find a tri power manifold for a 318 but no luck so far i really want to run 3 stromberg 97's but all i can find is an adaptor from vintage speed anyone know of somthing that would work
If you mean a Poly 318 Mopar, I used to have an Edelbrock Manifold that took three 97's - sold it with carbs and all for way too cheap long ago. They are out there, keep looking.
If you are talking about the Poly 318 then choices are limited... This is the Edelbrock P600, and they are very hard to find. For a new 318-340-360 the six-pak manifold is on ebay everyday. .
no its not a poly i wish i here a lot of talk of the 6 pack being to much carb for the 318 is the tri power the same thing ? i also have 3 2 bolt carbs i think carter they came on the flathead 6
You could buy a new setup from Mopar for the LA small blocks.. Last I heard, they wanted like 2500 bucks for a new intake, 3 Holley 2-bbl carbs and linkage.
The 340 six pack from the T/A Challenger and AAR Cuda uses a 350 cfm centre carb and two 500 CFM outboard carbs, vacuum controlled. Two barrels are rated differently than four barrels, but I think the whole thing comes in at about 930 cfm if rated like a four barrel. If you are good with tuning the secondary diaphram springs and the centre carb's accelerator pump, you could make it work on a 318, depending on how built this thing is, what torque converter and gears you are running, not to mention compression ratio, cam timing, headers etc. It would be easier I think to slide a built 360 under that six pack, or just put a 500 afb on a dual plane on it - like stated above, six packs aren't cheap.
Considering the total cost of a six-pak set-up, you had better 'want' it pretty bad. In terms of everyday performance on a 318 it will be real hard to beat a decent dual plane intake, even factory iron, with a Thermo-quad. MHO .
LOL! My grandma bought me a P600 for $90 at a swap meet! It's all set up on a shelf. Makes a nice decoration. It's an early one set up for 3-bolt carbs. I WISH I had one for 4-bolt carbs like the picture! Edelbrock made about 1200 of these between about 1956 and 1968 or so. ~Jason
