Remind me to wash my face prior to any future video's! I was one nervous girl at this point. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= And now the moment we have all been waiting for! Kay Bettin - this is for you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= Neither Tim or I had ever messed with a Hemi and when I primed the engine, I got nothing at the rockers. I made a phone call and was told to start it with the valve covers off and that I should oil within a couple of minutes. So after 3 minutes, we got nervous and shut it down, and I put a phone call into "My new best friend Norm". I had an extra set of rocker shafts and we went to tearing them apart. We finally realized that it is more of a weeping design and we were expecting way too much oil so we went ahead and fired it back up and did the break in. Norm called back just as I was crawling into bed and confirmed so I slept a little better - actually that Hemi ran all night in my dreams - Tuffy should be good to go!
WoW, Ain't that fun? All your hard work has paid off, awesome Kathy, Just Awesome. I'll be seeing you on top of the hill.
Great work. The work you do is amazing. It had to feel great to hear it run.At this point you should have it made. The only thing is you make me feel lazy HA HA.
Congratulations, you have accomplished what a lot of people never really get to experience,,seeing your hard work pay off,, BTW,,don't worry about a little dirt on your face,,most of us old graybeards thinks it's sexy! HRP
fan f'n tastic, nothing like the first fire-up. not long now and you'll be tearing up the streets a little dirt on your face just shows commitment, and there won't be enough room inside that coupe for your smile the first time you aim it down the road. GOOD JOB! Gary
Congrats! it lives it's not mine but I am proud of it too I can not wait! I am building a small block mopar today the machine shop kept our motor mounts and screw in plugs I have to get some found and install it that was for Eddy G and RPU28 is still having steering problems. All I have to do is put gas in and go see ya there.
I was wiped out yesterday so I rolled around on a stool and did some wiring. While I was wiring I noticed this.... exhaust manifolds donated by Richard D hmmmm? I don't think I will have time to address it before Roundup. Tanya came out and helped me install the windshield in the frame. Thought we did good untill the afternoon when I notice this... oh well, it can be fixed. Caught my second wind around 5pm and started dialing in the Hemi. Oh man is Tuffy purring now! I absolutly love the Porters! Wish the cam had a little more lope to it but lets just say "he's well manered but responsive". Thought I had a rear main seal leak and it was ticking me off since I went with neoprene instead of a rope seal. Finally got a mirror and crawled under. It was only the oil pan. Whoo! Ok had a bad noise coming from the bellhousing - not good. Turned out to be a starter clearance issue. Two nuts (spacers) fixed that. Got the clutch slave installed and semi adjusted. Got to bed around 1030 and by 230 I was wide awake. Big Sexy said he would get his workers to put the body on at 7am. Shit, I had a lot of little things to do prior to that. Still had four little tabs to weld on for the aluminum firewall when they showed up. Caddy tail lights installed Waiting on some parts to show up. So far everything is falling into place - fingers crossed for Roundup!
Hence the reason I called shotgun!!!!! You got it Kathy!!!! Keep chuggin', you can rest during the roundup!!!
