Thats just AWESOME Kathy! You are my new Heroine! Tuffy is more like Heroin..........Just Fan Frekin tastic! Cant wait to see you and Tuffy this weekend!
Well Kathy I have rebuilt an engine, alternator mounts, installed dyna mat and rewired a dash in the last 3 days and all of it was for my buddies ! If I was in Harris Co. I would of come and helped. My 3 window is not to happy but I promised next year it could go to the LSRU .This year me and my son will be in the old IHC truck his falcon lost compression on 2 cylinders. but I cant wait to see the whole gang !
Sorry guys, I have not been taking pictures. Still messing with the wiring, but at least I am to the inside of the car. Windshield is attached, drivers window is in. Battery box and gas tank are installed. Picked up the steering box that Louie welded up the pillow block to - looks like something Henry Ford would have done - still needs rebuilding but i have the parts. But.... I am having hell with the clutch slave - I tried everything I knew last night but stand on my head. I did read this morning that in addition to bleeding the slave you need to push the piston in fully (which I didn't do). I'll get MoMo to help me with that this morning. My to do list is... Bleed clutch Bleed brakes finish wiring finish glass steering box rebuilt install seats attach grill new body mounting holes attach deck lid and license plates And go to Austin for a beer! I mean a car show! Man I love Austin!
I joined HAMB a few weeks ago because of your build. Like everyone else I have been following along and hoping/ wishing/ praying that you get’r done and still manage to relax a bit by the time you motor on down the highway. We all know that it’s easier said than done. But if anyone can, my money’s on you. Give it hell Kathy, you’ll get some sleep come May. Richard
Fingers crossed and prayers being sent you get to have that beer in Austin with Tuffy sitting on Congress and everybody drooling over it.
I have lights, blinkers, and a rear license plate! Whoohoo (that was for Skotz)! I'll post pics tonight!
Great headway and about a million readers will be beating feet to see this amazing creation your working on. Good luck on the last details you have to do and will be looking for you at the LSRU
man, you put all us wimps that have been building our cars for several years to shame. I hope everything works out for you. I think everyone on here admires you for your awesome skills and serious love for that car
I read the entire thread in one sitting, great car! that's dedication and very nice work.......subscribed to see the rest on the story
Worked till 130 last night and knocked some stuff out! Tanya's Grandparents came by with some self made seat cushions. So Cool And the attached sign for my seat cushion! She acts like she knows me. Tanya's Grandpa gave me this a while back and ask if I could use it! I had been looking one just like it! This is what I started with in the morning - what a mess! I'm legal! Three's ok huh? Actually it was a ground issue and I've got all four End of the day! Dont make fun of my modern temp guage I need a bushing to use the old one and don't have time to go hunting right now. Still missing an upper gauge. Louy stopped by and installed the deck lid. Although I have a nicer one than this I decided to put the original one on. Note the gas fill hole from when Ron was racing it - I guess Louy made a fan shroud while I installed the rest of the glass. The list is whithering away and so are my knee's. Lost track of the up/downs I did yesterday. Still have to get the steering box together. Bleed the brakes and clutch, and build and accelerator pedal. Almost done!
its awesome how things are all coming together for ya.that "GO" pedal is getting closer to gettin a work out.lookin bitchin.....
