Hey, all you fat cats. Can anyone tell me the depth of a STOCK '32 3-window glove box? I don't have one but I have the dash and want to replicate a replacement to match the original as closely as possible. I've been working on a '30 roadster that had the dash in it when I found it and want to stay as true to form as possible. If you have a picture that would be wonderful. Thanks..

10 1/4" deep. I had to run downstairs to my super secret stash of hoarded deuce parts! Johnny

    That sounds about RIGHT :)

A little known fact is that the original glove boxes have a small tab on the rear of them that attachs to the firewall ... to help support the box. The box is only about 1/2 of a inch off the firewall ... if you are fabricating one ...

    A stock length 32 3W box will be too long ( IMHO ) for a 30 roadster ...
Just make it, and keep it 1/2 of a inch off the firewall :D

I always wondered what that tab was for. Thanks

There's about 16" between the face of the dash and the firewall in this application. I guess I need to next measure my hand to elbow dimension to see what works. A modern map won't fit if I use the 10-1/4" dimension. Thanks for the quick response.
